Baby Shower Planning

When a family is expecting a newborn, a certain party is planned for the mother and father to be. This party for the expected parents is known as a baby shower. A baby shower is a party where the the expected parents receive gifts for the new member of their family from the parents family and friends. The baby shower will help the expected parents get the things they will need to prepare for the arrival of their baby.

Traditionally, a baby shower is given only for the mom to be, but now fathers either enjoy in the baby shower with the mom or they have their own baby shower given for them. Different religions have different ways of celebrating a baby's birth. For example, Jewish tradition is to buy nothing for the baby until it is born.

The baby shower party can be planned by any of the expected parents friends or family. Party favors can range from napkins to baby sipping cups, which can be personalized with the newborns name or the parents names. Gifts can be baby rattles, clothes, baby shoes, blankets, or baby cribs. The colors are usually baby blue or pink, blue being for a boy and pink being for a girl.

The birth of a baby is a great life changing event. Preparations and careful planning are a big help to the expected parents and will give them the essential things needed for the arrival of the new baby. Baby showers are special to the expected parents and hold a special meaning to the family that a new addition will be joining them, either a new baby boy or a new baby girl.
