A baby shower doesn’t have to be just about food and presents, there are hundreds of games that can be played to make it a bit more fun. Adding games can also spark conversation between the guests and bring out their natural competitive sides. Having prizes for the winners is another good idea to get the guests interested in the games. One popular game that is played throughout the party is the "Don’t Say Baby game." When each guest arrives they receive a clothespin to attach to their clothing. Everyone is told not to say the word “baby” and if they do, whoever catches them takes their pin. Whoever has the most pins at the end of the shower wins.
There are many memory games and races that are fun, like the "Diaper the Baby game." Guests are blindfolded and they attempt to diaper a baby sized doll, the one that does it correctly and in the fastest time wins. "Super Mommy" is an amusing game that has the player holding an infant sized doll and a telephone while trying to hang clothes on a makeshift clothesline. The player that hangs the most items of clothing in the fastest time wins. Another fun and educational game is the "Animal Baby Game" that gives each guest a printed list of animal names, such as dog, goose, wolf, etc. with a blank beside each to write down the correct name for the baby. For example a raccoon baby is called a kit.
There are themes for baby showers that games can be helpful in choosing which games to play, or just pick and choose different ones and have fun.
