Baby Shower Ideas

Baby showers have become popular over the recent years.  Originally, baby showers were only for the expectant mother.  Then it became traditional for couples to attend with their man.  In today’s world, belief has it that showers are to be given to the child and give them special individual attention.  Traditionally, baby showers were given only to the first born, now days it has become popular to give for each child including adopted children.  In today’s culture, showers are not just for close friends and family, but may include co-workers as well.  Traditions will vary in other countries.  Some world countries will still just have the baby showers with women only.

In the U..SA., baby showers come with different beliefs.  Some will have the shower before a baby is born, as other believe this to be bad luck and have it after a baby is born.  Some families will opt not to have one at all. In most showers, a close friend hosts the party, because if the expectant mother or family member has it may be considered in bad taste and self serving, as gifts are included.

Some of the activities in baby showers will include, baby shower bingo, guess the birthrate and sex, guess the expected mothers girth, guess the baby's food flavors, diaper throwing games, opening of gifts, and serving food, cake and beverages.  Themes can be different and inventive.  As time keeps ticking, new ideas keep flowing making shower creative and fun.
